In the field of management information, this approach is focused on the peculiarities and the dynamics of emerging economies. It is assumed that they are exceptional and different, and that specific social and economic conditions affect the management dynamics of their companies. In fact, the Local Economic Environment, as well as the Nature of the Firm, are both involved, in particular, concerning the Implementation, in the Long Run, of New Technological Innovations.
The results are three areas of research, which focus on the dynamics of the organization, the evolution of its strategies, and the different dynamics and strategies which the organization can consider in order to adapt itself to the new environment.
The MDKE approach is based on the premise that, in order to deal with the knowledge economy, it is necessary to work on the dynamics of the organization. The knowledge economy is based on new information and communication technologies (ICT), which have radically changed the way people work and interact, creating new contexts and spaces, that are not necessarily defined by the physical and geographic distance between the actors. Hence, an organization is regarded as one that is able to adapt, in real time, to these new information and communication tools, in order to ensure its survival. Therefore, the MDKE approach is based on the premise that not only humans, but also organizations, adapt and learn continuously. This approach is based on three fundamental and long-standing assumptions:
the organization and the environment need to be considered as a system, where one can anticipate, in the short-term, the long-term effects of events;
the organization model must change;
the knowledge is not created or captured in the organization, but is shared and exchanged among people, technologies, data, and environments.
The research area of the MDKE project covers the many dimensions of the management of organizations in the knowledge-based economy, as they experience the dynamics of the business, economic and social contexts of which they are a part, and their constantly changing strategies (re)convergence. The core of this research area aims at promoting, and in collaboration with the communities involved, design and implementation of managerial practices addressing the new organizational challenges and opportunities offered by their position in the knowledge society.
The temporal frame is conceived as the medium of investigation which, in particular, favors the analysis of the dynamics of organizational change as a medium of research, and, in turn, of the dynamics of the organizational management. The research areas of the project will be evaluated in a series of national conferences, in particular the following ones:
Conferences on the subjects of Economy, Administration, Strategy, Management, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Management Information Systems;
International conferences on the subject of Finance, Management Information Systems, Culture, Public Sector and Public Administration. 827ec27edc
