The Mortal Kombat series has featured costumes from a variety of video game series in its history. The following is a list of at least some of these: Sega Genesis/Mega Drive games: Mortal Kombat 3 featured costumes based on the original Mortal Kombat and Streets of Rage series. Sega Saturn games: Mortal Kombat II featured the following four characters: Wii games: Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon featured two characters from the Mortal Kombat Gaiden and Fatalities based on characters from the Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game. Android and iOS devices: Mortal Kombat X features over forty different costume variations for the characters.
The first three costumes were based on individual alternate costumes, and the other nine were based on costumes from the original Mortal Kombat or Mortal Kombat II. They were categorized either as "Old School", which followed the iconic Mortal Kombat 3 look, or "Klassic," which was based on the costumes from the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 game. Sub-Zero used his classic uniform but added green to his armor, and his scheme color was red. Kano used Kano's traditional black uniform but added a green pattern to his armor. Kenshi was designed by WayForward Technologies. She is the first female character ever added to Mortal Kombat and, fittingly, was the first to be released with a female character. She also received the first "Blu-ray" skin release with her release! She is a red female ninja. Fay used her Mortal Kombat 3 costume, but only for the old school looks. It was updated to a modern look in 2009 for Sub-Zero's and Kano's 2009 signature weapons. d2c66b5586
