Implicit theories of personality have been investigated at the intersection of social and personality psychology for decades (Schneider, 1973). Implicit theories of personality are dynamic inferences made by observers toward the observed person and occur at the intersection of social-cognitive processes within sociocultural contexts (Uleman & Saribay, 2012). On the individual level, personality inferences can include the face, but may also include other dimensions of physical appearance including but not limited to physical build, clothing choices, hair style, and primary and secondary sex characteristics.
