Ubuntu is distributed on two types of images described below.Desktop imageThe desktop image allows you to try Ubuntu without changing your computer at all, and at your option to install it permanently later. This type of image is what most people will want to use. You will need at least 384MiB of RAM to install from this image.
If you have a valid retail product key, you can alternatively download untouched ISO images via the Software Recovery Centre. Those downloads are exactly the same as the ones provided by our download tool.
Once you've completed your download, you can burn it to DVD using any DVD writing software that supports writing disk images. If you already run any Windows 7 version, it's also possible to write the ISO image to DVD just by double clicking it.
The Windows 7 product keys are all agnostic of language version and bit edition. Any valid Windows 7 product key determines only the edition (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise). It can, however, activate both 32 and 64 bit editions in any language. So, for instance, a key for the German Windows 7 Professional x86 edition can activate a Chinese Windows 7 Professional x64 edition. So if you already own a key, you can download any 32 or 64 bit image in your preferred language.
Windows 7 has various editions so that different demands of users can be fulfilled. Each edition has its characteristics. You can make your choice after reading the brief introduction to these editions. Then download Windows 7 disc images in searching for the specific version on the website windowstan.com.

openSUSE is an independent Linux distribution that supports 32-bit systems as well. Even though the latest regular version (Leap) does not offer 32-bit images, the rolling release edition (Tumbleweed) does provide 32-bit image.
Install Ubuntu Server. When an image similar to the one shown below appears, you can choose for the installer to add the parameter nomodeset to the linux command line. This can be accomplished by pressing F6 and selecting nomodeset from the menu. With Install Ubuntu Server highlighted, press return to continue.
Remove unnecessary partitions and extend the Windows 10 partition. Boot to Windows 10 desktop. Next, right click on the Start button and select Disk Management. A windows similar to the one shown below will appear.
Open the MBP, remove the disk and install using a Windows PC. There are numerous guides for installing Windows on either internal or external drives so I'll not duplicate it here as it isn't mac specific. Just make sure to install in legacy BIOS/CSM mode or apply image using dism to disk you partition and format yourself. Power off when it gets to first reboot (or after applying image). Check partitioning (both GPT and MBR partition schemes created) then remove disk, replace it in the mac and it will boot up fine (at least in my case). If using SSD you should patch the mbr before first boot as it is inconvenient to change to AHCI mode later - see below.
ISOburn is a free application designed to burn compact discs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs, as well as other formats. The software also allows users to write multiple types of files to discs, including digital images, photos, pictures, archives, music, movies and other videos, and other media. Like many of the other applications listed here, ISOburn does not work on Apple products. It is designed for Windows 8 through 10.
ISO Workshop is free software that allows users to burn ISO to disk in Windows. This desktop application is designed to help users manage ISO image files and convert them to usable formats, such as CD, DVD, and Blu-Ray. Capabilities include making ISO images, the ability to extract files from images on discs, create backup files, and convert and rip discs to image files on your computer. This ISO-burning software is available for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 but is not available for Mac.
As its name implies, BurnAware Free is a free ISO burner and mounter that allows users to rip ISO files from CD, DVD, and Blu-ray sources. You can also burn ISO images to discs with this software. That said, while this software is fairly robust, the free version does not include all features included in the paid version. Users find it easy to use, and many people enjoy that you can use BurnAware to write to discs that have already been used.
ISO Disk is a free ISO image file tool that includes capabilities to copy and create virtual video and audio discs. It supports up to 20 drivers and allows users to mount ISO image files and access files virtually as if they were playing from a disc drive. This option is probably best for more experienced users, as it requires you to map your ISO archive to a virtual drive to work properly.
An ISO file is an archive file that holds an identical clone of data found on a CD or DVD. Because the identical copy is technically an image, ISO files are also sometimes called ISO images. This type of file is used to backup DVDs, Blu-Rays, and CDs, and you can duplicate the content of a DVD or other optical disc to another disc by burning the ISO file to a blank disc.
I have been running WIn7 on my MBP C2D 2Gigs and Fusion 2, so far everything seems to work OK except a very specific and annoying problem with multi monitor supportEvery time I connect an external monitor to the MBP Fusion/Win7 detect the second monitor as well and enables it as second monitor in Windows (if in unity). This works beautifully and I can drag windows to either monitor no problemBut if I exit Unity or disconnect the external monitor Win7 freezes every time. I have tried this in several ways (going to full screen, disabling second monitor in win7, disconnecting monitor) but no matter what Win7 always ends up showing a black screen and freezes 153554b96e
